t was april 2002 when I first started designing a little 48x48 icon and published it at kde-look.org.
It was an alternative “trashcan" for KDE 2. Since then I’ve continued designing icons and started many themes to increase my skills and improve design quality, these were: "Desktop icons", "Sky", "Lush" and finally "Nuvola".
It tooks me more than a year to reach version 1, the more professional, consistent and complete Nuvola theme ever released, it will turn your KDE in an eyecandy colourful desktop.
If you never tryed Nuvola what are you waiting? give it a try! For the others waiting this release since a long time… download Nuvola 1.0 now!
Have fun and enjoy your desktop!

Two of these icons are practically identicle in that they show a piece of paper with a pin stuck into them (Klipper and Knotes). THen there's Korganizer that looks like a clipboard witha checklist on it!
It takes me a good 1 or 2 seconds every time as look at these icons trying to remember which is which because it certaintly isn't clear right away if you've never seen them.
Knotes makes sense...Klipper on the other hand makes no sense to me why it is a pinned piece of paper on a yellow background. I forget what the old klipper was but it was a helluva lot better in rc1.
Korganizer barely makes sense...it should be some sort of calendar icon maybe with the words "Tues 4" to specify it has to do with days of the week. A checklist (or todo list) is only part of the functionality of korganizer.

I like Nuvola a lot, make no mistake! However, a couple of points:
1.0 has new icons in Kmail, for get-new-mail, return, send and others. I don't think they're all that good. They look too much like each other, and I can't immediately tell which does what -- I have to wait for the tooltip.
New versions of Amarok will change the color of its tray icon as it plays a file. That effect isn't very clear with the Amarok icon from 1.0.
The tray icon for the program Knowit looks blank -- maybe Nuvola doesn't provide one?
The icon for Kstars is very hard to discern in its smallest version.

However: From rc1 to 1.0 all icons have become a bit more shiny and colorful. The colors I can accept, but please don't make them any more shiny! The non-shiny ("plain") look is part of what makes Nuvola great.
Thanks again!
