Description: Because some people wanted to see the rest of the style, I'm putting up this second screenshot; it shows the vast majority of widgets.
Scrollbars were changed considerable between the first and second screenshot.
I may post a reply if anyone has a question or comment, but I don't have the time to work on this again until this weekend.
Original Description: --------------------- This screenshot shows a new KDE style and window decoration I'm currently working on, as well as two applets that are designed with this theme in mind.
It's fairly obvious that this was initially inspired by Apple's brushed aluminum look as seen on Quicktime and other apps, but I think it's different enough to stand on its own.
The title bar "bubble" does obey your color choices.
Scrollbars and a few other widgets are going to be cleaned up a bit before I release it, and I'll do a matching wallpaper as well.
The default KDE clock couldn't do what I wanted (background had to be a flat color), so I wrote a simple little "skinnable" clock that pulls it's graphics from a .png file. I also added a replacement for KMix, just because I usually only have KMix and the Clock on my taskbar.
The MP3 player is VERY early, but basically just sends XMMS commands so you don't have to have it open; the visualization is off of the soundcard. It doesn't scroll the title (yet...), but you can skin it the same way you can the clock, via a .png file.
No menus have been done for either applet, and there are still some drawing issues with the style, but once it all comes together, it'll be released here under the GPL. Given school schedules, I'd say that'll be before Halloween, but we'll just have to see.Last changelog:
If you ever wanna get "really" rid of the Trash icon from your dekstop. Do this:
Open up ~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals in your favorite editor
Change the line Trash=$HOME/Desktop/Trash
to Trash=/home//Trash
Then Shift + Delete the Trash icon on your desktop
The next time you login, the Trash icon won't load up anymore :)
It took me months to find this someplace, hope this helps someone.
cheers,

So is it coming soon?
Also I would like to have same kind of buttons as in Mac Os X, I have kinda get used to have red, orange and green button on top-left corner of window.
im also thinking you should do somthing with the buttons like have a border when u click...same with the radio and check boxes. just a sugestion tho
LOOKS GREAT!
I have been waiting for this theme. I am happy that someone figured out how to put it together. Thank you so much!!!
I would like to know if it would be possible for the kicker on KDE to be more aluminize. I like the kicker on top but I also would like to use the kicker at the bottom as well. Just a thought.
Great Theme, please release it ASAP!!
It's certainly possible to do a texture like this on any kicker - the problem is that a lot of applets (the clock, taskbar, system tray) don't allow for background textures.
That's why I'm doing the clock applet, and also one of the reasons I switched to using a windowlist instead of a taskbar.
I'll release as soon as I get some problems fixed; right now there are serious repainting issues with the style, and the window border doesn't handle shading windows the way I want it to. As I said in the post above, I have school starting tomorrow, but a release of at least the kwin decoration and the clock / mp3 applets should be possible next weekend. The style may take longer, it just depends on how much free time I have.

Some time ago, I've shown a screenshot somewhere here at kde-look.org, showing an improved minipager (looks of it)..
I wanted to post a patch for that, but I decided to drastically improve the whole panel instead.
So if you can wait a few more weeks (or so) for my mega-patch, you'll be able to theme the panel the way you like it.
(ie. not just adjustable background images, you can can modify _everything_, even having a different shape for the panel would be one of the possibilities :) - some other things fixed by this patch is the backgrounds of panel applets, they all use the correct backgrounds)
Sounds great - are you going to try to get those introduced to CVS, or are you just going to leave it as a patch?
No biggie, either way, just curious - it's a change that should have been made by the time the 3.x releases started.
That's a great looking theme. I really like the clock and the media controls. What program(s) do the media controls work with? When can I get my hands on this theme? Or at least the kicker with the cool clock!
Currently, I have it working with XMMS, but it wouldn't be too hard to get it working with MPlayer. Any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
My school semester starts tomorrow, so while I'll work on this when I can, I wouldn't expect to see an actual release in at least the next week...but it's possible.
Yes. I would agree with showing more of how the style effects other apps in KDE. Then we could do some constructive talking about what's needed and where. I think that it would be nice to have the buttons rise when the mouse is over them but subtle like..something like what thinkeramik does. :)
Okay, I'll get a shot of the widgets up sometime today, then; I'd love to hear what you guys think. I'm going out to a movie right now, but It'll go up when I get back.
Also, I should let you guys know that this is my first KDE theme (actually, first experience with qt at all), so I wouldn't expect too many extra effects, at least at first. I may add some glows and whatnot as I get more familiar with things, and I'll try to make all of that optional or customizable.
I don't know about anyone else, but I like this. I think it's very good. It's not Aquaish..God knows we have enough Aqua looking stuff. The brushed metal looks very good. I like the clock..very cool. :)
Thanks! It's good to have some feedback.
As I said in the description, the scrollbars are going to change a bit before release - do you have any other suggestions?

Is this going to be available anytime soon?

html formatting removed some information. Trash=/home/user/Trash when you edit that file.

Oh, and sorry for the advertising for my own project ;) This looks very nice as well :)
Hope you release it soon!

I'm cleaning up the tabs right now, but I'll try to put up a screenshot later tonight or tomorrow with the full widget set.
