Description: I don't understand.. some people use XFCE with Nautilus or lighter file-managers(es. rox), aren't just gnome-panel+metacity+FM fast enought?
I guess its quite fast, but I use ICEWM if it has to be fast, and rox. gnome can't beat that...
and with sufficient memory, KDE is fast enough - while it offers a much nicer environment :D
