The average of the CPU load amounts approx. 10-20%. Sometimes more, but I don´t know if these numbers are correct. My system doesn´t really slow down.Anyhow not so that you can notice it.. Everything works well and I have no Xgl-problems concerning my hardware! But you know, the whole thing around Xgl and compiz is highly experimental.

thank you for the explanation. anyways, i am not going to switch to xGL soon. I am not so eager to get the latest-and-greatest (I use Slackware;-) ). *burb* I am drunk again, so nice ,-))))
Could You, please, specify Your hardware and tell how much resources does XGL consume? I am just curious, and I suppose it will be some good INFO for those who are eager to get the latest-and-greatest ,-)

Thank you for the information. So have you checked how much CPU load does XGL consume when you rotate the "desktop cube"?
