You need libgpod for iPod support. See the README.

ok everythig is great...i like the new ver. alot

but i have probs with lyrics..

it says this:

/usr/bin/env: ruby: No such file or directory

and i have the env file at the correct location...

anyone help?

First of all make sure you have Ruby 1.8 installed. Then, make sure the binary is called "ruby". Some distros call it "ruby-1.8" instead, and offer an additional package that creates the symlink to "ruby".

Either get this package, or create the symlink manually.

aRts support has been removed and won't come back. Use the Xine or Helix engines.

Is it just me, or is this beta version a HUGE Improvement. It has some great new features, but most importantly, atleast for me...it's VERY fast and responsive. I'm not sure what was done...but it now seems very 'lightweight'. No lag what so ever. Awesome. I also really like the new statistics dialog. Great job...best audio player out there, on any OS.

First of all I want to thank you for the new VFAT support. It's something I've been waiting for some time. But, I think I've found a problem in the beta. When you press Transfer button to send the files to the device I see a window where I can select the way to order the songs. However, when I select one, the files are copied but the directories aren't created, so I've got a lot of songs in the root of the device.

Besides, I've seen the program copies each song as a diferent file so if you copy 50 files 50 transfer dialogs are opened. I think it'd be better to transfer all files at same time.

In beta1 the VFAT plugin is not yet fully working. It was added only very recently :)

In SVN there are already some improvements and fixes for the plugin, so it should be working a lot better in beta2.

When I edit the tags of mp3-files, amarok only writes ID3v1 tags _and_ empty ID3v2 tags. Amarok seems to write ID3v2 tags, but does not fill in values, just to make it clear :-) Is this misbehaviour known?

Disable the option "Do not encode the following as Latin1.. Tags". It automatically enables ID3V1 writing.

It is already disabled. I'm afraid I didn't make myself clear: Amarok writes both id3v1 and id3v2 tags, but the id3v2 tags have no content.

Try out kid3. I do all my tag editings through there. It's an extremely powerful program. http://kid3.sourceforge.net/ (should be in your distro's repo though)

I can't figure out how to play APE files with amarok. Is there any RPM for SuSE out there?

hi there,

would it be possible to add a feature so you could jump to a song in the playlist by hitting the corresponding number button?
By hitting "2" amarok would play the second track in the playlist. Maybe in a two digit way? Hitting "1" and "0" straight away would play track 10.
If this would be available through DCOP I could use the number block on the remote I use via LIRC.
I would love to see this in one of the next releases.

I will never understand, why you use images from Amazon with the implied restrictions instead fetching the images from Google Images.
