Amarok Full Screen
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work): Add the source-code for this project on opencode.net
UPDATE: as more people get involved into this project, it needs some organisation and version management. A sourceforge project should be opened soon.
This is a full screen front end for Amarok. The look can be changed by custom THEMES.
INSTALL:
to build from source, you need Qt3 development files (IT WILL NOT WORK WITH QT4!!), kde development files (dcopclient.h) and the g++ compiler. Just run "make" to compile the program. If it doesn't work, try running "qmake" (or "qmake-qt3") first and then "make".
For installation run "make install" (requires root priviliges)
To run the program just run "amarokFS". An entry in the start-menu should also be created (may depend on distro, tested on ubuntu).
You can find openSuse 10.2 rpm-packages on http://ftp.huessenbergnetz.de/pub/paketdepots/suse/openSUSE_10.2/

patch -p1 -i /path/to/the/patch
If you want, you can run this at first with the option --dry-run to test if the patch would be applied correctly.

Great app! I created a little Amarok startup script for this, so that AmarokFS can be started from Amarok itself. Check it out at:

Sometimes Amarok does not recognize the right front cover, so there's a need to change that.
Thank's for this extension.

This is a very great app. You should make some improvements like:
Clickable progress bar to choose at the exact piece of the song you want to listen;
Play, stop, etc... would be great if by going on with the cursor, to be highlighted or getting magnify effects like MAC OS X taskbar...
NICE APP! THANK YOU!
PS
Sorry for my bad english... i'm italian...

this seems to be a great application, however using a hardcoded installation path is really unhandy.
Using a standard configure script would simplify installation and creation of packages greatly.

Really great.
A pair of wishes:
- it could be great to display additional infos like lyrics, rating like ipod gui (maybe clicking on image it shows in his place lyrics, clicking another time rating, ecc.)
- maybe it could be used as anti-geekin' screensaver if there weren't controls like play, stop, ecc.
- a simple cool feature could be to show next track
Thank you for your job, amarok full screen is a very-cool app.

What do you think about being able to access songs from this view in some manner, be it via playlist or library? I think that the mouse rollover functionality would be useful for something of that nature to reduce clutter. Adding a feature like that would be awesome for parties. Imagine only allowing people to access this screen and a preferred playlist or the entire library. I think there are a lot of possibilities here that can be explored.

Also, I would like to request it to be started with "-setup" to just run the configure dialog, "-window #" or something similar to run in another window, and with "-root" to run in the root window. This way, it can be easily used as a screensaver.
I also tried my hands at hacking it to work as a screensaver, please look at the following file: http://phinnfort.phil0d0x.com/amarokFS.desktop
(It's supposed to be put in ~/.kde/share/applnk/System/ScreenSavers, and then everything should work, but when I click "test" here, it doesn't do anything).
Thanks for a very nice program, btw;)

I don't fully agree.
It would be a great screensaver but I also like the idea to have it as an app you decide to launch.
Moreover, screensaver will not work if you don't run amarok.
But maybe someone will do it, and maybe add a "screensaver to launch if amarok is not running" ;)
Would be great :D

1) add quotes before and after Title?
(Song Title -> "Song Title")
2) add "by" before Artist?
3) add "from" before Album?
