Bangarang is a media player for KDE. The name comes from the Jamaican word for noisy, chaos or disorder.
Feedback and patches are definitely welcome. Packaging contributions are also welcome. I only ask one thing: please be respectful. I do this in my spare time and, as such, I'd like to keep my motivation up.
The source code is maintained on http://gitorious.org/bangarang and anyone interested in helping is certainly welcome.
Please report bugs to http://code.google.com/p/bangarangissuetracking/issues/list
Thanks much for your help!

See here: http://pastebin.ca/1661983
I tried adding a dir with some mp3 files.
I'm using archlinux, kde4, nvidia 190.42
Maybe that helps.

You'd at least have to do a
"thread apply all bt"
to see whats going on. Don't forget to compile with debug symbols.

I built bangarang git again with DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=debugfull and this is the backtrace from the kde crash manager.

Hopefully this is more usefull then the first backtrace. :)
Ah and thx for your time trying to fix this bug.

Sorry, you've run into difficulties. :-(
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to reproduce the error and I'm unable to decipher much from the gdb output provided. If anyone else has any ideas, I certainly welcome them.
In the meantime, feel free to file a bug report if you'd like to keep track any fixes.

Once some of the rough edges are smoothed out it'll be stunning!

Segmentation fault (core dumped) with the git snapshot 2009-10-11.
Are the Apport (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Apport) crash reports any use to you ?

Is there a flag that I can use w/ cmake to enable debug? Probably a too simple question, but I'd like to be able to give useful bug reports if possible.

I think I have all of these KDE4 devel packages installed but don't know how to tell cmake where they are.
I really like the looks of this project and think nepomuk integration is an excellent idea.
Good luck w/ it

You can get the fresh sources from http://gitorious.org/bangarang. If you don't have git you can download a tarball of the source by clicking on the "Source Tree" link. the "Download as tar.gz" link is on the left.

btw, wouldn't the propitiate site be the kde-apps.org than the opendesktop.org? (just the subclass, because player is designed for KDE4 pillars in mind?).

Compiling and working fine with the Kubuntu Karmic (beta) / KDE 4.3.2.
What a fine media player - Thank You!
As this is a alpha -> It only finds and plays mpeg (video) files ??
Throwing the sources to the PPA.
