Description:Installation:
Simply upload the .hid file with the 'bluetooth obex push client' (KDE 'send -by-bluetooth') to your mobile phone and connect. If you already defined global hotkey in amaroK, just set the remote keys to the 'alternate' global key.
Works also with other Mediaplayers, if you define the 'global hotkeys' for Kaffeine or your preferred Audioplayer.

If it don't works if startet on mobile, try
hcitool scan
Scanning ...
00:11:22:33:44:55 YourMobile'sName
And try to connect to it:
sudo hidd --connect 00:11:22:33:44:55
Your mobile should then ask you for beeing used as remote, select the new profileentry and it should work...

when i try to define the mobile-keypresses, amarok does not respond to them. cat /var/log/messages gives: hcid[9392]: link_key_request (sba=00:20:E0:7A:2D:56, dba=00:16:20:2A:7A:9F) hidd[9412]: HID create error 2 (No such file or directory)
seems to be an error with your bt-connection, nothin' i could fix...
>> If you already defined global hotkey in amaroK, just set the remote keys to the 'alternate' global key."... This addition is for people who already use keyboard-keycodes for amarok and don't want to learn "my" new. Amarok could assing 2 global hotkeys for every action. So, if you have a working multimedia keyboard you don't have to change the hotkeys, but add them as second hotkey...
Hi, today I tried it again and it worked! That is great! Thanks for this wonderful page.
1.) The Keycodes have to be defined in Amarok itself (maybe OPTIONS -> GLOBAL HOTKEYS, I've got a german version running here) Instead of klicking on your keayboard to define a key, hit the phonebutton for the action o perform. 2.) As I used Winamp in the past, my keycodes are orientated to the codes used there: CTRL + ALT + HOME = Play/Pause CTRL + ALT + PgUp = Last Song CTRL + ALT + PgDn = Next Song CTRL + ALT + End = Show/Hide Amarok CTRL + ALT + M = Mute CTRL + ALT + O = OnScreen Display CTRL + ALT + + = Increase Loudness CTRL + ALT + - = DeCrease Loudness CTRL + ALT + S = Stop
I sent your file to my SE z520i and it seems to be working, except that it does not affect Amarok itself... I guess I have global hotkeys configured incorrectly, but I don't understand how to do that correctly. Could you elaborate on defining global keys? Where and how do I configure that? In Kcontrol > regions and accessibility > hotkeys > global hotkeys i see no way to configure something for amarok... I do not understand what you mean by " If you already defined global hotkey in amaroK, just set the remote keys to the 'alternate' global key."...
Or, maybe you could write down exactly how to check if the phone is really sending something to computer, and, which button on the phone screen emulates which keyboard shortcut? That would help a lot...
Looks great, but every time i try to start it on my k700i, phone freezes. K700i supports HID, so I think it should be compatible. Any ideas? Anyone who works it on k700i? Thanks
Sorry, can't answer this, I only send the WMP profile from my phone to the pc, edit the files and send it back, so i can't say anything about the compatiblity to older phones...
