Trying to compile and build package on launchpad but I get this error:

Unable to find executable: /build/buildd/rekonq-0.3.90/obj-i486-linux-gnu/src/tests/mainview_test.shell
2/2 Test #2: mainview_test ....................***Bad command 1 0.00 sec

Looking in the /src you provided for download don't have any file named mainview_test.shell , so it look's like its missing ...

I mean, yeah there is a file named mainview_test.cpp but why do I get this error?

nevermind I just disabled #ADD_SUBDIRECTORY( tests ) in /src/CMakeLists.txt... seems to work now :-)

I also realise extensions like addblock, firebug and grease monkey are a must have ...

So, that got me thinking: would you be able to make it Google Chrome Extensions compliant (I know I'm not -- I'm new at KDE development =( )? Maybe talk with those guys (chrome developers) and they could help (I see google very colaborative about their stuff -- e.g. they implemented plasma support for Google Gadgets before people talk about it!).

If this gets able to use chrome extensions, it'd totally rock (I'd kick firefox and chrome out of my daily use forever and I doubt distros shipping it as default browser would really have users needing something else). I know it could be hard (or maybe even not -- you already share webkit so only extensions that add buttons or do some other changes to interface could require work to run ... or maybe not that much work ;) ) but would it worth it a lot?

Well, 0.4 is here and today I found something that I hope is helpful, even if not directly (possibly, code won't, as I suppose it's mostly javascript), but it still can point a way: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/98440 .

BTW, if the name is still an issue, I'd reinforce someone's suggestion and change it very little: Rekonquer (capital R) or Rekonquest (or Web Rekonquest) or, the coolest but most audacious one, Rekonqueror ( =O )

Man, first of all: great job! To me, soon it could be KDE default (but I'm no one ... sorry =D ).

I really don't use menus but perhaps it could be like 0.2(.0, maybe), in which it had a menu and toolbars were configurable. Then, menu could be disabled by default and, maybe, "show/hide menu" -- or whatever alike -- button could be at right of stop/reload, with a separator between them. That was what I had in 0.2. This way, everybody wins.

Well, for me, at least toolbars could be configurable back again, so I could reposition items to where I find better. *This* is something I *do* miss now!

It seems like I was right in the first place: toolbars are locked and I can't, for example, get Home button out of there. Please make them configurable again or it'll be veeery frustrating.

Using Kubuntu, and searching for a newer Deb (like from git) I found this ppa https://launchpad.net/~rekonq/+archive/rekonq-daily but it's empty.
And the https://launchpad.net/~rekonq/+archive/rekonq PPA has an old (Nov.24) package of Rekonq git, which didn't build because it uses KDE 4.3 to build. The https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-ppa/+archive/beta PPA should be added as a build dependency.

First I really love rekonq.

Now a wish:
Would it be possible that someone could add a config-dialog for the tab page? I would do it myself but at the moment there is no time for it maby for 0.5 . Thanks.

Pretty nice !!! I love it .
Continue on this way ; add greasemonkey and adblock support and I should replace my default web-browser (chromium) by this one , sure .
Please add a skin editor if possible (I don't like those gnome icons :S ).
It's a very good web-browser , continue and good luck ^^ .

When I browse through my favorites it happens all the time that a submenu overlaps the main menu completely. This is really annoying, because I have no chance to leave the submenu again.

It would be great if the submenus are always open towards the left (since the favorites button is located on the right side), without overlapping.

This is not possible, sorry (at least for me). What we'll do in 0.4 is a UI redesign to fix problems like this.

My distro just updated to v0.3; so far it seems like a nice improvement, but I do have one issue:

After updating, my URL entry box is only about 1-2 inches long, and I cannot seem to find a way to resize it. I don't have any sort of context menu or or handles to drag and resize.. Am I missing something, or is this not yet implemented?

it's a bug due to different settings between 0.2 and 0.3. Delete your rekonqrc file, restart rekonq and you'll see it fixed :)

It would be cool if we could hover over a link and see the URL preview inside the adressbar , instead of view the URL at the bottom.

Thanks for providing a great alternative to Konqueror's web browsing capabilities!

I'm getting an error just like this on Debian testing, trying to compile 0.3

I think the issue might be caused due to a difference in the docbook versions in jaunty and karmic.
If you could tell us what vesion of docbook you have maybe i can help.
And if you dont want the docbook just remove the docs folder and the CMakeLists.txt line,that should sort out any problems with the docbook.
Also since rekonq 0.4 now depends on KDE 4.4 i would advise that you move on to karmic.
