hi when i want to add an other connection licq just shows icq under protokoll not msn how can i add an msn account?
you need to compile the msn plugin at first before you can use it. If I remember correct, the tar-File already contains the msn plugin. So you have to download it, unpack it, go into the licq-1.3.0/plugins/msn directory and ./configure && make and "make install" afterwards as root
work with ICQ, which is a major plus when compared to Kopete.
and it starts faster, has easy to read chatlogs and now even supports typing notification (i.e. if the other side is typing). I'm really happy to be back to licq after about one year of absence.
Yeah, Kopete looks nice at the first glance, but program is still "raw", if I may say so. I used to be a user of Licq for a year and half ago, and today am just forced to get the newest release of Licq (as I try to use as less GTK based apps as possible :) ). Thus Licq has become much versatile since the last time I used it.
If you just want something fast to chat on icq then licq is the way to go. Licq is actually what mirabilis icq once looked like (before they began adding all the ads and useless plugins), it's simple and uncluttered.
