Description: Update: first bugfix release for 4.3 is out
New stable release for ktorrent and libktorrent.
The biggest changes since the 4.2 release include: - Reintroduction of a tabbed torrent list widget, though a bit different then the old tab widget from the 4.1 days. - Improved support for magnet links - Support for removable storage - A whole bunch of bugfixes and smaller improvements over ktorrent 4.2
For a full overview of all changes, take a look in the ChangeLog files included with the source code.
If you have problems or feature requests you can go to bugs.kde.org, or just ask around on our forums http://ktorrent.org/forum
thank you ! Ktorrent is really a nice and well integrated KDE app :)
But I don't really understand what is the "Video streaming support" feature ?
And may I suggest some improvements to the "open torrent" dialog ? It could be great to have the ability to filter (with a filter bar) and sort by size in the treeview widget that show the content of the torrent
Not bad still in in adjustments of groups to add a folder for relocation after file downloading, adding of the extension for files not loaded to the end (.part for example that at creation of miniatures for example video files such files were passed), well and labels (and creation of folders on the basis of labels).
I apologize for my English.
Simply putted:
The best and most beautiful torrent program in the Linux world!
The program that made me forget the utorrent when I smashed the windows and discovered the Linux world!
Keep up the good work!
Since upgrading to 4.0.1 KTorrent crashes frequently (segfaults), and by comparison to other torrent clients I have tried is terribly slow.
As opposed to the occasional crash and good performance of earlier versions.
Time to say goodbye to KTorrent as far as I'm concerned.
For Ubuntu/Kubuntu Users you find the debian packages in the following Lounchpad PPA by typing follow command.
$ sudo apt-add-repository ppa:blca/published
Because of dependencies you must also activate the Kubuntu Early Updates PPA:
$ sudo apt-add-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/ppa
then you simply make
$ sudo apt-get update
and
$ sudo apt-get install ktorrent
further information you find on
- https://launchpad.net/~blca/+archive/published
- https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-ppa/+archive/ppa

I've compiled neon-ktorrent-3.2beta1 packages for Intrepid (amd64|i386). I named it neon-ktorrent because it's compiled against the Qt/KDE 4.2 "nightly" builds from Project Neon (http://apachelog.blogspot.com/2008/06/project-neon-kde-nightly-builds.html).
The Ktorrent package and necessary libqca2 stuff can be found at my tiny little apt repository: http://homes.cerias.purdue.edu/~ecates/apt/.
I'm very new to crafting .DEBs, so please forgive any wonkiness with the packages. I plan on getting debugging packages built ASAP, because I know they'd be really useful.
I've been running these packages on my laptop (i386) and desktop at work (amd64) for a couple of weeks now, and they are working great for me.
Well, since there is a new version, and somebody asked me to make a new .deb, here you go (it is made by checkinstall) (if its not start, just install ktorrent from repo, and install the package. that will should do it):

Isn't Ubuntu big enough and such a great distribution that this should not be a matter for George, but rather for your huge and great distribution?
Real men use the source.
Weaker ones rely on distributions.
And these should stick to the distribution solving their problems, not authors of apps.
if i'm not mistaken, george works with jdong packaging ktorrent for ubuntu so i figured he'd know. that is why i asked.
your gentoo-like elitist attitude means nothing to me.
I hope the icons will be updated (the green and red ones) because they don't fit very well with oxygen :-/
Maybe the same icons but with a thiner outline ?
Anyway, I love this app, thank to the KTorrent team

Thank you for all your hard work on giving KDE the best BitTorrent client on any platform :)

It still has no caching support at all? This is ridiculous! Lets trash those disks, boys
Does anyone has a Fedora RPM for KTorrent 3.2?
Why don't you use "ghost"?

Is this what is in trunk at svn.kde.org? That is where I have been grabbing ktorrent (along with KDE.) Is this newer or the same?
This is not newer, that's for sure.
