Description: Photo and video downloader (importer) from cameras, memory cards and portable storage devices. Rapid Photo Downloader is written by a photographer for professional and amateur photographers, designed for use on the Linux desktop. It can download photos and videos from multiple cameras, memory cards and Portable Storage Devices simultaneously. It provides many flexible, user-defined options for subfolder creation, photo and video renaming, and backup. It runs in thirty languages other than English.
For the moment, downloading directly from cameras is an experimental feature. It works well with some cameras, and badly with others. If you notice any bugs, or the download is slow, using a memory card reader is strongly recommended.
The following RAW image formats are supported: ARW, CR2, CRW, DCR, DNG, MEF, MOS, MRW, NEF, ORF, PEF, RAF, RAW, RW2, SR2, and SRW.
The following video formats are supported: 3GP, AVI, M2T, MOV, MP4, MPEG, MPG, MOD, MTS, and TOD.
It will only run on recent Linux distributions such as Ubuntu 12.04 or newer. It has been tested on Ubuntu 12.04-14.04, as well as Fedora 20.Last changelog:
Updated Catalan and Portuguese translations and fixed a translation bug.
Thank you. Unfortunately downloading from websites is outside the scope of this program. The raison d'être of Rapid Photo Downloader is to download photos and videos from devices using metadata.
