Make scan as easy as print for both users and developers. Gnome Scan is the official Gnome effort toward the best desktop integration of scan features. This is done by providing a powerful and extensible library allowing developers to easily add features to their application, just like they do for printing.
Gnome Scan provide widgets and dialogs consitent with Gtk+ printing (since 2.10) making it very well blended in Gnome desktop. Gnome Scan ship a tiny standalone app named flegita.
