Nitrogen is a background browser and setter for X windows. It is written in C++ using the gtkmm toolkit. It can be used in two modes: browser and recall. Nitrogen has been in development for over 2 years, due to real life and laziness.

thats quite neat, should be the replacement for the current background tab in Appearance. btw, what do u mean by recall?
Recall can be used at startup so it loads the last selected wallpaper. Check the manpages for more info.
