I didn't known this version of mplayer until now, then I take a look and see, my class aren't incompatible, becouse of my workaround of this 'bug' on mplayer 1 corrected on mplayer 2:
"Better pause handling
In MPlayer executing any commands forced the player to unpause. This is no longer the case; in MPlayer2 you can change settings, seek, or run other commands while paused."
