This is a patch that provides native lirc support for smplayer.

Requirements for compilation:
Qt 4.4.0 at least.

Smplayer is a great mplayer frontend but it lacks support for remote controls, so I try to fix this missing feature.
For your convenience in the attached file is a script that will checkout the latest smplayer svn sources and will apply the patch for you. I haven't tested to build it for Windows, but it should compile.
You can configure smplayer to use lirc in the Preferences dialog (see the screenshots). To use the feature you must have working lirc server or WinLirc if you using Windows.
