xcurtheme
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
part of the GUI and Xcursor theme changing code taken from KDE (but XCurTheme does not need KDE installed!). thanks, KDE team! this code is licensed under GPL.
CursorXP/CursorFX import is completely mine, and it's licensed under WTFPL.
WARNING: you should have Xcursor and Xfixes at least version 2.0 installed. any modern disto suits fine.
enjoy and happy hacking.
v0.0.1
* first release
* importing CursorFX themes are working (at least on that 50 themes i tried), but for now it's only a command line utility; i should integrate it in GUI
* importing CursorXPThemes is working, but animation scripts are ignored for now; will be fixed later
* the code is complete mess; i should rewrite it!
enjoy and happy hacking.
in the next version:
* GUI for theme manipulation (install, delete, themes archive)
* import Xcursor/CursorXP/CursorFX themes from GUI
* export Xcursor/CursorXP themes from GUI
* more exciting fatal bugs for your pleasure

I've added a live ebuild for this in Gentoo's qting-edge overlay :) http://github.com/gentoo-qt/qting-edge/tree/master/x11-themes/xcurtheme/
you're welcome. maybe somebody find this simple thing useful. i was really shocked by the fact that there is no such program in my internets, and that nobody reversed CursorFX file format. so i have no other choise than to do it myself. %-)
I would find a program to convert cursorfx themes of great value--how do I get hold of one that I can download and run?
