Description: FeelHome is software that connects your personnal or professionnal computer to the internet, and lets you access your files and folders from around the world!
You access whatever you want, whenever you want, where ever you want! The strength of Feel Home is definitely it's simplicity. We designed it to be accesible to everyone. If you have access to a computer, you CAN use our service!
1. I think it is not allowed to post non-opensource applications on www.qt-apps.org, they should go to www.qt-prop.org
2. The way you advertise the download links makes one believe the only alternative for Linux users is a precompiled .deb file designed for Ubuntu - which is not suitable at all in my case.
Luckily I went to your site to look for more options, and discovered that it was indeed a .tar.gz.
3. The installation script kept complaining about me not beeing root, even though I ran it as root.
When removing the check the installation completed, but with a bunch of errors:
Quote:
[znurre@Znurre feelhome_linux]$ sudo ./install.sh
ln: target `/home/lost+found/Bureau/' is not a directory: No such file or directory
ln: target `/home/remote/Bureau/' is not a directory: No such file or directory
ln: target `/home/xmms2user/Bureau/' is not a directory: No such file or directory
ln: target `/home/znurre/Bureau/' is not a directory: No such file or directory
FeelHome : SUCCESSFUL INSTALLATION.
4. When trying to run the application I got these errors:
Quote:
[znurre@Znurre ~]$ feelhome
QIconvCodec::convertFromUnicode: using ASCII for conversion, iconv_open failed
QIconvCodec::convertToUnicode: using ASCII for conversion, iconv_open failed
Segmentation fault

I am sorry, but I don't find source code for download anywhere.
Ok, so they should really introduce an edit function for comments on the opendesktop family sites.
The source can be downloaded from the sourceforge page.
I downloaded and compiled the application myself, and this time it worked like a charm :)
When starting the application it told me there was a newer version available even though I downloaded the latest release from the sourceforge page.
I went trough the steps of creating my account, and stumbled across one bug:
if you enter your surname with a capital first letter (which probably most people do...) the system will try to automatically log you in with that surname, even though the system only accepts lowercase surnames.
The login will fail, and you will have to change the surname manually and connect.
Once this was done, it all worked GREAT!
I was very impressed by how easy it was to setup, and everything worked without any configuration whatsoever.
Big kudos to you for this.
1 request would be to have the FeelHome configuration stored using QSettings or similar, or atleast place it in a hidden folder in my home not to create such a mess :)
Maybe make it an option in the client?
Once again, sorry for my first harsh comments - I wish you all luck!
It's really a great project.
Hi Znurre,
Glad you finally find the source code. I will correct the issue whith the lowercase surname. It is a bug. It is clear that the Linux release can be improve. I will do my best.

I think I'll try this out.
LOL, guess the bandwidth bill was too high, huh?
