Where do I get the Window Decoration from. Its a good one. Simple, elegant, and not too big.
And now there is one. Thanks!
Screenshots are great. They give you new ideas on how you can use the material on kde-look.org. I agree with everyone else that there should be a "Screenshots" section on the site.
Could someone explain me how to get those alpha blended icons? In the Icon Controll Menu I cannot activate Alpha Blending for the toolbar icons. Is there something special I have to do?
Hey can you tell me how i can use menu transparency.. i can't find it, ..sorry
Create a file ~/.qt/kstylerc with the following contents: [Settings] MenuTransparencyEngine=XRender MenuOpacity=0.9 (Instead of XRender you can use one of SoftwareTint, SoftwareBlend, XRender, Disabled)
Ok, tough guy, you think yer' so smart, two questions;'): 1. Is there a file that one can create to make the kicker(Kickers in my case...) transparent? If so, spill da' goods! 2. What do the other 3 options do? Howza bout a thumbnail sketch of what THOSE commands would do to spiff up my 3 desktop? (Gotta love Mandrake Contribs!) Please note: 3 has a few minor bugs that I have found, but nothing that has cause core meltdown, falling hair, dropsy or conspiracy to commit mopery. It's really damn good, here. And AmiBug's Icons look GREAT with the Alpha blend! They just need more Boing Balls...;') -skal Old Amiga Hand
I have tried the ~/.qt/kstylerc and it doesnt work for me. I'm using the cvs and it's has been built recently. Any ideas ? Will options be added to the Look and Feel section to set these nifty features ? Thanks
Well, I have 3 running on Mandrake 8.1.5(Don't ask...;')and it had qtrc in the .qt directory. I tried making the file, and that didn't work. I then addred the lines to the qtrc file that pre-existed and it *kinda* worked, as the menus in IceWM are nicely translucent, but as for the rest? Not yet, in any case. I will entertain any and all ideas. Appreciate them, even... -skal Bryce was once an Amigan
No idea, why it doesn't work for you. It works for me ... well, actually there's a bug in the latest qt-copy, so my KDE crashes now whenever I activate any menu transparency. ;-) But before that it worked. Yes, there will of course be configuration options in kcontrol.
Huh ... and with CVS/qt-copy from today (Qt 3.0.2) menu transparency works again with the ~/.qt/kstylerc file.
I wish there would be a "screenshot section" on this site, so we could vote on the best of the month, or something like that. There was a section alike on T.O. and I used to enjoy seeing those desktops. I've learned too much how to configure a good and functional Linux desktop on that section, as well as I used to know about new softwares people were using on the world. I think it could have some utility. Well, I can't wait for 3.0, too. BTW, does anybody know what KDE people will do about Qwert's amazing theme, which was shown as a hyperlink in some section on this site?
what about screenshots. A new section or just a "no no"?
Are those vector based icons? lol
Can't wait for KDE3! BTW, you can configure the menu transparency, can't you? In the screenshot it was really hard to read the menus, but illustrated the effect well. Oh, and the centered kicker....yes, yes, yes....just a little bit more and kicker's configurability will approach that of gpanel (kicker still needs to be able to float). Can't wait to get my grimy little hands on a release candidate... :o)
