emm, I have an IBM Thinkpad X30, it has pretty much what you said above except it has an Intel Pentium III-M processor, but Composite runs quite slowly, does it do the same for you?

I've "only" an HP nx6110 Laptop. That's to say : intel Celeron 1.3Ghz, 512Mo (2x256Mo) ram, intel 915GM graphic chipset (64Mo shared memory).
and :
Xorg 7.0 on a kubuntu dapper
that's all !
