Description: This script for amaroK shows the status (song title, artist, album and volume level) on an LCDd server. http://www.lcdproc.org The screenshot is using lcdproc on a curses backend. I use it with a crystalfontz 20x4 display, and works great. This script needs IO::LCDproc and DCOP::Amarok:layer (can get them via CPAN at $CPAN/~jcmuller, or at https://ww2.the-code.org/svn/perlmodules )Last changelog:

After I did some modifications to the script it now works great.
I had to do some modifications, because I only have a 2x16 lcd and because I wanted to see artist and title I changed the line of the slider and the volume bar with the title's line.
It would be great if some things could be done in a configuration dialog ;-)
Other things that come into my mind when thinking about improvements are:
1) Make the artist/title slide, if it exceeds the lcd lengt
2) Display some text like "nothing playing" if amarok plays nothing
However, you did some great work!

It says 'stopped' and 'paused' in the 3rd line when it is in those states.
I will implement the config dialog. ASo far Ive been busy implementing different things in the backends that control amaroK.

Al final consegui hacer funcionar el script, borrando modulos antiguos :)
Esta version esta bastante mas guapa ke
la anterior. He probao diversos script
para lcd y xmms, zinf... La cosa es ke
amraroK es el mejor reproductor de musica,
y con este script, mejor ke mejor :)

He instalao todo, DCOP::Amarok::Player
IO::Lcdproc::Client , IO::Lcdproc::Screen e IO::Lcdproc::Widget, pero al instalar DCOP-Amarok-0.01 me dice:
$ perl Makefile.PL
WARNING: Setting ABSTRACT via file 'Amarok.pm' failed
at /usr/share/perl/5.8/ExtUtils/MakeMaker.pm line 606
Writing Makefile for DCOP::Amarok
despues al rular el script me dice:
El script 'amaroklcd.pl' terminó con el código de error: 255
Detalles:

De momento sigo con el 0.1 :)
debes instalar DCOP, DCOP::Amarok y DCOP::Amarok::Player.
El script usa DCOP::Amarok::Player directamente, los otros son requisitos de este.
Ahora por sugerencia de alguien en cpan, cambie el lcdproc a IO::LCDproc simplemente. Entoces, instala DCOP, luego DCOP::Amarok, luego DCOP::Amarok::Player. Despues IO::LCDproc, y luego baja la version 0.2....
:( si, creo que son muchos pasos. pero es lo que saco por tratar de hacer codigo reusable ;)
Chequea pronto de vuelta que estoy trabajando en una version que muestra el avance del tiempo tambien, sobre el slider que ahora solamente muestra el volumen.

gracias :) ya lo he hecho funcionar, le he puesto lo del backligth en on en el LCDd.conf y se ve de puta madre. MUy buen script gracias de nuevo :)
