Description: Import OPML lists with urls to podcasts, which are exported by many podcast portals and podcatchers, easily into amaroK (Vers. 1.3.3 up).
The script first opens a "file open dialog" with which you can choose a OPML (XML) file locally from your computer or from a remote location.
The script parses the file and looks for RSS-feeds. There has to be a parameter called xmlUrl in a tag called outline for the script to be able to do that.Last changelog:
Added check for requirements. Better error handling when user input is not valid.
Hey,
I am afraid this is my first piece of Python software ever. The error handling seems not be working fine in all situation. I check what I can do.
Ciao
Fabio.
Dude, it worked for me. As it's more or less a one time deal to get the stuff imported, it only needs to work well once.
:)
Thanks, I just wish that something as simple as this was part of the program. It kind a makes it hard on the fresh Linux converts, such as myself. This make Amarok one of my favorite tools on my system, as I'm a podcast junkie..

Ok, I added more error catching stuff and some requirement checks. Works pretty smooth now, Fabio.
