script is good, but for me don't work or work incorrect some functions. 1. time song in mood (incorrect) 2. layout now playing in menu (don't work) i now work over correcting for first bug. PS: sorry for my bad english PPS: debian testing amd64 don't work
as there is not Update for these bugs since a half year (and Skype4Py was not working for me, even svn version) i decided to create my own taste of a skype mood script http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/SkypeMood?content=125640
Thank you for this script, but unfortunately I must confirm that the message is not updated most of the time for me. I'm using debian unstable/amarok2.2.0. the message gets updated once for a 3-5 songs, and does not seem to depend on the way the songs are changed - either automatically or I press next/previous button/use shortcut, the same with pause/play.
Sorry, this seems to be a skype4py issue, which was fixed when I installed it from svn
Thanks for this wonderful script. I've much more skype than msn contacts. There are still some glitches, though. When I hit the start button for the first time, the mood is indeed changed, but pressing stop then and start on another item in the playlist, the mood is either not updated, or just empty. Platform: Kubuntu 9.04 with KDE 4.3.1, Skype 2.0.xx, Amarok 2.1.1.
Thank you for your comment. Could you please describe exactly what you did? I just tried to repeat what i thought you did, and i could not even play another track by just selecting a track and hitting the play button(?). So far every other scenario i could think of seems to work here.
The problem is that until now, I did not yet figure out how the behaviour is to be predicted. The best way to describe is that the mood message is not always correctly updated when I press buttons in Amarok such as Pause, Stop, Start. Sometimes, for example, when I press the pause button, this is added to the mood, and then removed when I press the start button again, but this is not always the case, it seems primarily when these buttons are hit after a short amount of time. Sometimes also, after hitting the stop button, the mood message is emptied, but it seems this is not always the case.
Short amount of time trigger is not correct either. With the 'paused' message, it seems just like random when the message will appear or disappear in the mood. After a certain number of switches it will work, but it seems random when.
Sorry for not anwsering for so long. Unfortunately, i still did not find out what's wrong, because your problems do not appear here. I run Ubuntu 9.10, Amarok 2.2.0 using KDE 4.3.2, latest version of Skype4Py, although it appeared to be working with Ubuntu 9.04 as well.
I still have the same problems with Kubuntu 9.10, Amarok 2.2.0, Skype4py 1.0.32 and Skype 2.1. Update of the mood message just seems random. Sometimes it is very accurate, and then it is totally random. No clue what triggers it. In addition, when Skype is not active in memory, this slows down Amarok enormously, starting up Skype solved that problem immediately.
Hmmm, perhaps I have a clue. And if so, it should be an Amarok-bug rather than a bug in your script. I have many OGG files. With these, the script does not work at all. With WMA or MP3 files, it works properly now with amarok 2.2 on kubuntu 9.10. Do you have the same experience?
Sorry, I do not have any ogg files. It works fine with mp3 and m4a as far as i can see. However, there were Umlaut and non-ascii character issues. These should be fixed now.
