there's already a fully functional script that do the same called "Sleepy"

Hi, there is also a third one called cronos. When I realized that I was already too far to stop it... and now it is there. :-) So feel free to chose! Rico

Just tried it today, shapping well =)

if u want, let me know when you have fixed the bug and I'll test it for you. Cheers.

Hi aVo, thanks :-) . I guess the script has a lot of bugs, that has to be found and in general I would do so of course. But in this case the bug is in amarok version 2.0.2. (which is even fixed by 2.2, even with amarok 2.1 some thing changed on amarok side). The only thing I will do is to check the version and try to stop this script very early (with an error message) because it has in this case a heavy impact for the user. Hopefully then amarok will start up. But even here I'm not sure whether that helps. I will do it on weekend. It would be nice if you could check that afterwards. Have a nice day. Best Regards

Apologies for the multiple comments above - not my fault - every time I reloaded the page it has added the only comment I posted again!

Hi aVo, sorry for that. The word good night becomes here a fully new meaning. ;-) I think no script shall influence the runtime of Amarok. Sounds strange. Could you give me some more information (version) before removing the script or updating amarok? 1. Open console and enter "amarok -v" 2. Enter now "amarok --debug" this requieres package "amarok-dbg" Sent me the output of both commands. There is no need to reinstall amarok. Please go from your home directory to folder.kde/share/apps/amarok/scripts/ Here you find a folder "good_night". Delete it. Now start amarok again. The script has no influence anymore. If it works again the script was causing the issue. when I got requiered output I will open a bug report. If the issue still exists, it is another issue. Best Regards

Hi zonken, Yes. Good Night indeed! :D As requested, Qt: 4.5.0 KDE: 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2) Amarok: 2.0.2 ------- I am not too keen on the second one ... on installing 'amarok-dbg' konsole returns 'After this operation, 582MB of additional disk space will be used.'!! Lots of other packages required. ------- I removed your script and A starts fine again. Thanks.

zonken

oh even amarok 2.0.2! Since 2.0.2 there changed a lot, maybe also something in the script enviroment. You should give amarok 2.2 a chance. A lot of nice improvements. Have a nice day. PS: Yes here is a bug on this page

aVo

Danke schoen. I might just give 2.2 a look. Laters.

Hi, Thanks for your good night script which sounds great. I installed the latest version today. It returned 'Script successfully installed" as it should. Went to restart Amarok ... but now it won't start. So I un-installed and re-installed A .. but still the same .. won't start. Ran; sudo apt-get remove amarok and sudo apt-get autoremove But when I re-install it still won't start. How would I get A working again, please? Preferably without losing my config/playlists ( but thats not the end of the world if needs be). I am using Kubuntu Jaunty J. Thanks.

Hello, With Mandriva 2010, icon does not appear in top http://img691.imageshack.us/i/snapshot1z.png/ Is possible to have the translation in French, please ? Sorry for my english

zonken

Hi Fred6681, thanks for the info. I think your english is ok. I already fixed it. I'm waiting until end of week because maybe I find the time with a co-worker who will translate it into french. (The only french words I know are "merci" and "merde". That is not enough to translate it.) If not I will update without french translation at week end. Are there any other icons missing? Best Regards
