Media Context
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work): Add the source-code for this project on opencode.net
Purpose:
* Displays contextual information about the currently playing media
* Adapted from similar scripts by rsyh93, Jean-Philippe Andre and ale5000
Status:
* MC has only been tested in Windows and Linux so far
- Let me know whether it works on other operating systems
* Only a few local files and remote streams have been tried
Crashes:
* VLC crashes when replaying the same local media file
- Here's the bug report: http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/5044
* VLC locks up if starting/stopping media when extension is busy
- Here's the bug report: http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/5070
* VLC locks up when downloading files after track changes
- Here's the bug report: http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/5056
Issues:
* There's some unwanted crap in with the topic information
- Wikipedia keeps changing its webpage code every few weeks
- I will update MC's filters whenever I see this happening
* The image shown sometimes isn't related to the context
- Google Images sometimes returns totally irrelevant results
Other:
* If you encounter other problems, please provide detailed descriptions
* When the above VLC bugs are fixed, I'll unlock/implement more features
