any screenshot?

what is happening if you run the command latte-dock?

Report

As you can see in the pic in the link the screen is blank with no options. And this holds true regardless of how I run it, install it or what ISO or system I install it.

this is the Latte plasmoid and not the Latte app...

go to terminal and run latte-dock, what is happening?
error messages?
nothing happens?

but from the screenshot I think that Latte is not installed correctly...

Ok, I removed latte-dock alltogether from mi system, I went into AUR and installed the 0.6.0 and I ran from terminal and I have the menu I used to have!!!!! It seems to be working. I will say I was runing from terminal versions 0.5.8 and 0.5.9. Thank y-all so much for the assist!

You can install latte from AUR, and afterwards run latte-dock, right click anywhere in the dock and choose Latte Settings

Thank you for replying, I did install it from AUR, also I installed it from the +Widgets area and it does install and I can indeed go into the Prefrences, that is not the issue here, no matter what version I install or from where I install it I do not get the Appearance menu, I even did a clean install just to rule it out, I have no control of the zoom or profile or what the dock does (visible, intelihide, etc) Now, a couple of versions back I know latte-dock did have that menu, it was just tricky to get at. Any help is greatly appreciated.

drag n' drop from official plasma widgets explorer...

the dock needs to be built and installed... afterwards it runs with just executing 'latte-dock'.... Depending on your distro it may a package for 0.6 is already provided by it... Arch has already included 0.6 version and for openSUSE is just a matter of hours...

thanks, I use Manjaro and installed from AUR git package. Currently running 0.6.
Is it possible to drag and move plasma widgets icons like application launchers icon within the dock. If not wud it be feasible to add this feature in future release for latte dock.

you can drag n' move plasma widgets when you are in editing mode (editing mode is when the Latte configuration window is shown)

Report

rahulprabhakar

In editing mode the Lock/unlock icon overlays the widget/launcher icon and one has to place the mouse pointer away from lock icon towards the top edge of widget icon to drag. please show dark icon on light background instead of grey and reduce the overlay square for lock / unlock to minimum.

Just installed this via Discover, but I can't find any way to get it to show on my Plasma desktop on Kubuntu 16.10. I search in "Add widgets" under "Latte" and also under "Dock" but nothing shows. I do the same in the application menu and nothing shows.

I also tried installing from Plasma's "add widgets" menu. The widget browser shows Latte under the "Installed" category, but once again, I don't see any way to actually add it to my desktop.

Great dock! No issues for me so far (I'm using it as a plank alternative). However, is there any way to adjust the spacing between icons? Thanks!

Thanks.

That was too oon.
With the dock, I have no control on my browsers, (i.e) cannot close opened tabs, I am forced to close the browser instead.
To me that's a significant headache.

Version 0.8.8 3 months ago

* fix: multi-screen, unload properly explicit screen docks when its screen
is not available any more

update to v0.8.7 4 months ago

* fix: Show dock properly on first startup. New users where trying Latte but
it was reported that something broke during updates and on first startup
Latte was not appearing at all. Problem was tracked down and identified
when ~/.config/latte directory was not created properly. This is fixed now.

update to v0.8.6 5 months ago

* fix previews that broke after kde frameworks 5.55 update
* fix shortcuts behavior for applets when using "Multiple" layouts

update to v0.8.5 5 months ago

* FIX: important improvements for fillWidth(s)/Height(s) applets. Latte now
tries to use plasma panels as an example in order to provide very similar experience
with its Latte panels
* FIX: adjust Latte taskmanager in order to support new Plasma 5.15 Virtual Desktops interface
* improve: splitters positioning during startup for Justify alignment
* improve: --replace option in order to restart Latte properly for all systems
* fix: maximum length ruler behavior for Latte panels
* fix: create autostart folder when missing from user folder

update to v0.8.4 6 months ago

* FIX: restore mouse wheel action to activate your tasks that broke with v0.8.3
* FIX: support fillWidth(s)/Height(s) applets in Left/Center/Right alignments, add a plasma taskmanager to see what happens
* FIX: do not break applets order in Justify alignment when some of the applets in the layout are not found in the system
* fix: a crash that was related to grouped tasks
* fix: improve launchers synchronization between different docks/panels

update to v0.8.3 7 months ago

* FIX: support multi-screen plasmoids that use plasmoid.screenGeometry such as plasma pager, plasma taskmanagers etc. Latte did not update the plasmoid.screenGeometry value properly in previous versions
* FIX: do not crash when moving launchers that are being synced between multiple docks/panels
* FIX: make sure that launchers order between synced docks/panels is always the current one after the user has ended its dragging
* FIX: support fillWidth/Height plasmoids better (such as plasma taskmanagers), now such applets can be added for all alignments including Left/Center/Right
* FIX: do not show the warning message "Your layout file is broken" when the statement is not valid. This check validates that the containments and applets ids are unique in a layout file but the way this was implemented in the past it was returning false results in some cases

9 It's terrific! I find the zoom animation a bit janky, though. The icons vibrate as the mouse is moved along the dock. Would it also be possible to configure the curve that determines the icon zoom from their distance to the pointer? I'd like a more accentuated zoom around the pointer.

I love it! Q: Why my Latte is only v0.7.4 and there are no updates? I'm using official Kubuntu repos. Will it be updated with Kubuntu 19.04 or KDE Plasma 5.13?
product-maker aemstuz Dec 28 2018 3 bad
- Definitely needs more work. Placing more than one plasmoid into a dock is very annoying. You have to re-open configuration of the dock every time you want to do it. Another pain in the neck is that it does not respect already inserted panels and icon grid. Therefore, placing it near icons or panels produces mess in your desktop.
