Description: A couple of service menu to quickly create a backup copy of the selected files in the same folder, adding a .bak extension, and to restore them.
Manual installation: download both bak.desktop and bak-restore.desktop and place them in ~/.local/share/kservices5/ServiceMenus/
Like I've already said before .bak files could be automatically removed by the system
change .bak to .save or add a "~" at the end of a file, this will be considered a backup file by most linux systems ...
Such automatic mechanism doesn't exist, you are confusing the concept of "backup" with the one of "cache" and in general .bak files are eventually removed automatically only by the application that created them.

replace .bak with .fallback .bak files could be automatically removed by the system (cron) or clean tools like bleachbit.
