Chrome... Chrome doesn't bother about theming HTML content so I really doubt it affects your experience in any way.
So except from that 2 issues I can not fix, I really don't see why you think the theme works so bad, I think it just looks gorgeous! And I've worked really hard for it.

Also you may want to install gnome-tweaks to be able to tune its look as you want :P
About Arch, it has no default shell, when you boot it initially it just runs a terminal. That way you can fully customize it installing whichever desktop and apps you love :)
I'm telling you this because maybe one day you may want to give it a try, it's a bit more complicated but I ensure you it makes you feel you have full control of your PC and OS
I'm a distrohopper anyway :3 so every screenshot I upload is running a different OS
