Description:

a skin for YaKuake, probably the best terminal that there is (http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=29153).

this one features a carbon fibre background and metalish buttons.

hope you like it :)

replying here; looks like threads can't get too long on kde-look.

anyway, my point is that i can hardly believe it was really this script that crashed your system. i'm quite positive it must have been a pure coincidence.
you can see for yourself all it does is just changing a couple of files in yakuake's themes folder, and i really don't think this might possibly have any serious influence on the kernel.

could you please try to do the same thing again and see if it crashes again?

well, if it does, i should think the bug ought to be reported to the yakuake developers, not to me.

install.sh is buggy
should be

#!/bin/sh

cd ..
cp -rf fiberia `kde-config --localprefix`'share/apps/yakuake/'

mkdir `kde-config --localprefix`'share/config/fiberia'
cd `kde-config --localprefix`'share/config/'
mv yakuakerc yakuakerc.old
cat yakuakerc.old | grep -v "skin=" > yakuakerc
echo "skin=fiberia" >> yakuakerc
echo
echo "Fiberia skin for YaKuake has been installed properly."
echo

hmm, that's funny... it works just fine for me... what sort of problem do you have with it?

what do you want to make the ~/.kde/share/config/fiberia/ for? it's not needed, i think...

the [Options] part is needed. see http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=36354 where i had made a mistake not adding it, and it didn't work properly than.

a kernel panic?! how come did you get a kernel panic from running this script?
what distro are you running? have you rebooted after running it?
i'm sorry but it's so hard to believe!

just read
1 i had a preconfigured yakuake with option yet present in the yakuakerc
so adding another one crashed the app on restart ...
2 noneed to reboot to apply specific app config
3 the install.sh i poste might btw only be a solution for people who have some skins and [option] yet in yakuake rc
i'm not that good at shell but i figure that something went wrong when i c a kernel panic.
eaven if i didn't believed it too i had to believe it ...
thy to run your shell on a yakuake wich yet have skins folders and option in yakuakerc
you will certainly crash too

i'm runing pclinux os and yakuake fully updated :)
now time to go to bed

well, i've got some skins and options in yakuakerc, too, and ran it from yakuake and nothing happened... surely no crash whatsoever.

2. i know that. but i've never seen a kernel panic during a system run.

3. i have both, too.

btw, i'm running linnexos which is based on pclos, and my yakuake's fully updated, too.

this is a truly weird thing. i didn't even know yakuake was capable of crashing the kernel at all :/

sry for answering so late ...

kernel panic is kernel panick and wasn't eelate to a dramatic problem ...

just a config trick ... that's it
