I have a bunch of ported OS X icons as well - all graphite style though. I would post them here but I do not know the original sources yet and I need to finish renaming them to proper filenames for KDE. I love your idea! Keep working on it and get more ports!

WinterWolf

I really like them! You can also use this: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=1577 to speed up development.

Josema

Wow!!! folders are cool!

You know, it really gets me that you are posting these icons as your own. No where do I see the credit given to the iconist artists (most of them I know personally) who actually made the bulk of these. I'll bet if I talked to Hein Mevissen or Sam from Pixeljer, both would be very pissed off. Oh yeah sure, you wrote all of them and they said ok. Right. How about doing something original from scratch like the rest of us? Most Linux users don't know the sources, but Mac users do.

from : The Mixer to : shok@wanadoo.fr Date : Wed, 12 Jun 2002 15:32:40 +0200 Yes, but you have to include my web-link, e-mail adress,, and Read me file. Same like they are included in my iconsets. Hein that's what I am doing ! A README file !! with credits ! their names, their web-sites ... as I already said, thess are NOT MY ICONS. I like these icons, and I wanted to make A THEME ! but if a large part of you don't like that I export Hein Mevissen's or Sam's icons(source : www.xicons.com :), I will remove them from kde-look ! So please, vote ! NB: sorry for my English ! I'm a little french ! :)

Shok, I'm glad to see you do have written permission from Hein. This is good. How about the others? What I think would be most ethical and honest would be to ask the icon artists themselves to sumbit their own SETS to KDE if they so choose. Granted, the icons are top notch, and would be wonderful to make them all available to Linux users, but cherry picking the best from here and there is not the way to do it right.

shok

what you mean. :) "How about the others?" well for the moment, only Hein, Ryan Meek, Nathan Blake, and Olivier HENRY (he's French :p) have made an answer + (response ?). I tried to ask some others like mmicons, but ... "What I think would be most ethical and honest would be to ask the icon artists themselves to sumbit their own SETS to KDE if they so choose" that's what I'm waiting for ! :) I hope they wiil do that ! but I wanted to have the best from the best from the best :))))) (sorry if I offended you, you have beautiful icons too :))

No offense taken Shok, and thanks for understanding. As an iconist myself, as well as the Icon and Desktop Editor for ResExcellence I'm in a unique position to help promote various digital artists and their work. While I'm not the "Icon Police", I have known of many cases where "borrowed" icons have led to a whole bunch of grief and hard feelings. While the rules are unwritten, the code of ethics on this sort of stuff is pretty clear. Do it right, and everyone benefits. best of luck on your project

shok

project is a little bit strong ! hobby is the word :) "While the rules are unwritten, the code of ethics on this sort of stuff is pretty clear" I understand and I agree. "best of luck on your project" Thank you. :)

yes, I know, it looks like marbles, but this is exporting from OSX icons, and I'm trying to seach some others icons for deleting marbles style ! I'm trying t make a README for credits, so I hope I could upload the icons tomorrow !! thanks.

messiah

Am truly enjoying the Icon creations that appear here. Even loved those handdrawn ones earlier (great idea, keep going). But please oh please, no marbles or circles anymore. All the others in this set look great.

aergern

Can we download them. Don't tease us :P I think they absolutely rock.

mathew

Looks good for starters, although I would try to stay out of the "marbles" if you can. IMHO they seem to take the life out of the icons some how. Keep to the style of your icons for gimp, kreatecd, illustrator, the folder, etc...
