Description: It could be nice if amaroK shows the cover in the entire albums of the playlist. I'm speaking just about entire albums, but not about partial or not organized albums in the playlist. So the only case I mean is when the user selects and album in the "Collection" tab and dropes it in the playlist (or press "Add to playlist"). If the user adds another artist's song inside an album the cover simply dissapears.
The purpose of this is to show easily the differents albums in the playlist and recognize them faster. For example it could be useful when loading two albums of the same artist in the playlist: it takes some time to me to recognize both of them if they are together.
Note: If you like the idea you can vote for it in KDE-bugs: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126908Last changelog:
2.0: The idea has changed, instead of colorize the albums now amaroK shows the cover in entire albums of the playlist.

i like the clean look also it would be great if amarok would use the same qt stuff that xmms and audacious use so you can theme the player completely instead of just the window to the left that displays the album art and collection.
Yes, I acually do like the new idea... kind of. At least I think so.
Have anyone tried the new iTunes? If not, take a look at this:

(However, this idea is more advanced :P)
Meh. It's...complicated, but I rather like it. It's...intuitive, somehow. Probably a terrible, terrible mess to implement -- but I'd like to have it. Nice idea!
My target was to show the albums together in the best possible way in the playlist. First I used color but I realized that there appeared many times the artist and album, why? is neccesary?
So I decided to improve the idea.
Maybe you are right and I should create a new mockup.
PD: I'd like to know all your opinions, which one is better?
I think it would be nice to have this feature, but for more than albums. However, many colours in a playlist wouldn't look too good.
Maybe just a column in the playlist, that shows the colours? And then you can choose the "highlight" - sort after album, artist, genre...
Just an idea. I'll maybe make a mockup later.
In looking at my current playlist, a feature like this would certainly add a nice layer of distinction between the queued songs. I voted "good" for it. Maybe the Amarok developers will think it's good too and incorporate it soon. Good luck.
Reading the idea, I thought it would look really ugly, but having seen the mockup image, I think this is a really good idea and can be made aesthetically pleasing too. I voted good.
AmaroK doesn't follow KDE's release cycle, so this isn't a KDE 4 brainstorm idea. (That's why amaroK is an extra package instead of a part of kde-multimedia).
Also, an amaroK theme is something more specific: a theme just for the sidebar on the left (which is actually a KHTML page), using CSS and sometimes images.
"Mockup" or "idea" in the title would be a good idea though.

Yes, I saw it a week ago. :(

that is the most ugly thing I've ever seen, KDE is supposed to be simple.
This is a radically different idea to your original proposal - why didn't you create a new entry for this in stead?

Great idea !!!

I hope you like the new version of the idea, do you? ;)

maybe you should use "kde4 brainstorm" category, or "amaroK themes". but if you will leave it in "other", imho you should put word "mockup" in name

ARGH! No, don't ever tell people to put things into amaroK Themes that isn't amaroK Themes! It will break GHNS!
