Description:

I really did not like the Amorok default player buttons and after a few attempts with icons i tried just text. I thought that it's simplicity readily matches Amarok and whatever deco theme or icon theme I'm using on my desktop.

without Amarok running, drop the text icons here "/usr/share/apps/amarok/images"
Make sure you backup the originals in another folder.

just a little think:
you don't need to delete/backup the orginal images: just untar the new files in ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/images
(if this directory doesn't exist, create it) and amarok will use your images

I think it's better for 2 reasons:
1) Now your files are under ~, so (at least for me), it's easier to backup (I made backups of my home only)
2) If there are other users who like the default images, they don't need to do anythink :)
