McOS-Mint-Cinnamon-Edition
NEW:
Version 2.0 is a newly developed theme with much improvements, such as a new metacity-theme, comboboxes with blue side-arrow-accent, a completely new dark-theme,...
This is a totally re-engineered version of McOS-MJV for the Cinnamon desktop.
Since it finally supports gtk 3.20+ (hello, we have been here for a few years already?) I thought I could give it a shot.
This has proven to be a much more difficult thing to do, because of the way Linux Mint uses Muffin as a window-manager, which has some drawbacks (like: Server-Side-Decoration, so no transparency in Nemo, ) and the 'multitude' of toolbars that take half the real-estate of the window... Reducing the size of them was my first priority.
Next building a metacity-theme that blends with the rest of the UI. I managed to create one that follows the theme. So with applications like X-viewer, X-player, DarkTable, Mpv-videoplayer, Cheese or Totem-mediaplayer you automatically get the dark theme with dark metacity titlebar. Or you can enable dark-mode on certain apps like the terminal.
Next, for certain apps (like the calculator or Lollypop-music player) CSD is used for drawing the titlebar (and buttons). So here too, there is support for dark-mode.
Nemo, the filemanager has been tweaked so it resembles (a bit) the MacOS-finder. In the screenshot Nemo's menubar is hidden.
How to:
Download and extract the file to your '.themes'-folder (make one if you have not done so already)
Open System Settings/Appearance/themes and choose the theme in the window-borders and Controls.
Issues:
Libre-Office is not so good in GTK2. If possible try the GTK3-version.
Note: there is no Cinnamon-theme provided.

I've been using the dark version/cinnamon for Linux Mint 19.1. There's room for improvement. The notification popup could use a different color because it's black on a dark theme and a black border, meaning it can be hard to distinguish it from an application sometimes. Speaking of the notification popup, it could be smaller when notifying about what song Rhythmbox is playing.
Another issue from this theme is with VLC's buttons. When playing a movie file using VNC and this theme, it looks like all buttons are disabled because they all look grayed out.
And finally, when hovering over anything, be it an application icon on the taskbar or a notification icon, I get a white text in a dark-gray hint with no border, which also can be hard to distinguish with an already dark theme.
hi Paul give me some hope to check the Synaptic gray scales? it would be very nice to make the theme even more perfect!
Thank you very much for your effort.
Hi Paul, i note a little problem in Synaptic with the gray grade in the menu bar under the window border that is perfectly integrated instead. I had reported to you a similar aesthetic problem even in the past. Thank's for your job
9+I'm absolutely thrilled to see a Cinnamon theme from you! Your themes are among my favorite and I've been dying to experience your work on Cinnamon for a while. Much appreciated! <3

Are there any plans for porting the Dark and Space Grey versions to Cinnamon?

And for Cinnamon? Which theme do you recommend? Will there ever be a dedicated version?
It is developed on Manjaro cinnamon. It should work on any cinnamon desktop.
