Are you using large border size option?? I recommed using normal or no border at all.
As for the white tittle bar, I didn't even notice because AWC hides it automatically, but its fixed now.
Would you kindly tell me what magnifying glass icon do (I mean that on the top panel)? Is it a plasmoid or some kind of software?
I suppose that, it is a be::shell with a styleproject qt engine (DSP).

8 There is a bug with border size. No matter what border size i choose, it allays appears huge.

Oh that's just the search/krunner widget, it is already installed with plasma.
