Wow! Plasma 6!! Thanks!!

phob1an

Forgotten about this 'til someone reminded me ;)

10 My favorite of your themes! And thanks for the heads up concerning plasma themes with a color file messing it up. I've always used either your Reactionary or Irixium plasma themes with it.

phob1an

The desktop themes colors file is an odd quirk, maybe a relic from the days of KDE4. I kept this a colorscheme aware because there were gonna be more colors for it. Just never got around to it.

looks pretty broken on latest plasma https://my.opendesktop.org/s/Zn6xJ65PYiJG29j

phob1an

https://my.opendesktop.org/s/S7ESMwRqzPwz3TN - that's on 5.26.5.

poudink

in that case why? I already tried using the exact same decorations, global theme, application style, color scheme and everything as in the screenshots just in case something was interfering, but that didn't work and I can't really think of anything else.

phob1an

Weirdness is happening here. The tarball that downloads from this page is broken even though I've updated it twice now. And this is the first time in years anyone's bothered to tell me so thanks for letting me know. Here's another link for it: https://my.opendesktop.org/s/kSRLHBZPagbjQtx

it didn't seem to fix the problem, unfortunately. I did find a way to fix the "keep above" and "keep below" buttons, tho. Replace all instances of class="ColorScheme-Background" with class="ColorScheme-ButtonBackground" in their respective SVGs. Doing the same thing in Decoration.svg made the black borders the same grey as the buttons. Looks a bit more bearable, but still not correct. Not sure why it still looks wrong.

phob1an

Are you using the required colorscheme?

poudink

Yeah, this one https://store.kde.org/p/1265969

phob1an

It sounds like aurorae isn't reading the colors correctly. Not sure why. Maybe try re-installing manually? (Untar to ~/.local/share/aurorae/themes) Nothing else is running that conflicts? e.g., qt5ct

poudink

Already did the installation manually. I don't think I have anything that conflicts. I used to have qt6ct to set qt6 themes, but that caused some problems and I removed it a while ago. I use QtCurve, but that's probably not the problem since you use QtCurve in the screenshots.

phob1an

Had another look at your screenshot, its just not reading the colorscheme properly. Are you using the tarball from my.opendesktop link? Application style shouldn't make any difference. Just posting new content, will have another look in a couple of minutes.

poudink

Yeah, that's the one I'm using.

phob1an

Ah! Little quirk I'd forgotten about. Are you using a Plasma theme that includes a colors file? For some reason, aurorae will read colors from the desktop theme before reading from global colorscheme.

poudink

Looks like that was the problem. I was using Oxygen. Seems I'll have to switch to Breeze. Thanks for the help.

Really like that theme.. Unfortunately I can't get it working properly on Kubuntu 18.10.. I installed Reactionary design with the mentioned color scheme. The top bar doesn't have these grey borders, it looks more like Windows 2000.. Any advice on this?

phob1an

If you're using a Plasma theme that includes its own colorscheme then that will affect this decoration. Try switching your Plamsa theme to Reactionary or default (Breeze) to see if it helps. Could you post a screenshot for me to look at?

l1800turbo

Ah I got it. Reactionary didn't work out, but Breeze did. Seems sensitive to colors from other themes. Can you tell me, which color names affect the window bar? BackgroundNormal from [Colors:Button] seems to affect the blue part in the bar. Maybe I try to build my own color scheme, which works with the KDE1 window design :)

phob1an

I don't know why Aurorae follows the Plasma theme first. This is based on the other Reactionary themes which follow system colors but I might re-work it to stand alone (not follow system colors). The key colors are WindowBackground for the frame, View{Hover,Focus} for the highlights and Button{Hover,Focus} for the lowlights. Best you open decoration.svg in an editor and look at the tags from each element. I'm curious however that it didn't work with Reactionary Plasma. Could you post a screenshot? Seems something needs fixing.
