Choice of default icon set is not enough of a factor to persuade me *not* to use a particular OS. But if you feel that strongly about it, fine -- but you're probably limiting your scope of otherwise great distributions because of some really trivial aesthetic choices that are easily changed.
As we all know - windows doesn't stand for freedom!! IMHO it stands for problems... I can see myself and others using this dist but I dont think new users that are used to windows expect to see a win-deco like the silver theme from win XP...
A hint from me and possibly many others is to get rid of that theme from the dist... This is Linux - Not Windows!!!
Otherwise - greate work!!

Buddy, something can't be "too" subjective...
It's either subjective or objective.
You could say something along the lines of "That's subjective" or "that's your opinion"...

that depends on your world view - some of us believe that objective things only appear so because they are significantly LESS subjective than most things.
Black things appear black because they reflect significantly less light than most things; not because they reflect NO light.

Why do people use that ugly icon set... Same reason I never considered Mepis.

What I want to know is the source of that desktop clock in the second screenshot :-) ... seems cool.
That clock is kicker's applet. There's an invisible vertical child panel with that applet loaded. Yeah, that surprised me too! It looks really nice.
