Is there any way to change the speed of the animation when you select each tab? Or add an option to disable it all together?

Did you consider disabling animations via a slider in the System Settings?
Alternatively, you can make a script to patch TabGroup.qml to use the durations you want manually (it'll be reset back on plasma updates):
sudo sed -i 's/PlasmaCore.Units.longDuration/PlasmaCore.Units.shortDuration/g' /usr/lib/qt/qml/org/kde/plasma/components/TabGroup.qml

Tab animation durations are defined here [1]. I'm not sure if it's possible to override this from a plasmoid without copying all the stuff over (I'm not really into QML so I may be wrong).

Thank you. I was hoping to switch to the new kickoff [1, 2] once it's released and wasn't really planning on adding new non-trivial stuff, so it's probably out of scope, sorry.

Ha, so it's finally going to be retired. I think it's about time. We came up with the UI in 2005 [1], when I still thought the original IPod's sliding tab interface was pretty nifty and a way to save screen space on the 1024x768 displays of the era.

9 I like that you have a way to disable subtitles in Favorites and in Applications, but is there any way to disable them in the other tabs too? Like in Computer, History, and Leave. Just to give the whole thing a more cohesive look.

10 Rated 10/10. I like the way I can increase the number of columns as I increase the number of favourites. Also that it displays item descriptions. Loads quickly too.

I use this menu with newer plasma versions and it is super fantastic..however it will not work in Plasma 5.14 which is the version in Debian. Is it possible to get it running in Plasma 5.14?

Hey there, I've uploaded the version for 5.14. I didn't test it thoroughly but it should work. There were some changes with imports, kirigami and stuff (also can't use `let` in JS there).

Hello cupnoodles, I meant the menu with all the apps and not just the favorites. I don't want to use just in favorite apps, but in all apps. I don't know if you understand. I am brazilian and i don't speak english well

9 excellent!!! Now that Kickoff can perform calculations and conversions, along with these new possibilities of views, it is very close - if it is no longer :) - of being PERFECT. However, I personally would love an extra option to visualize all the applications such as the Plasma full screen Dashboard, the Unity8 or Dolphin launcher by grouping each item and labeling the headings with the initial letter. If I can find the code necessary to make it happen, I will share it. You have done a great job! Thank you!!!
