How To Use:
1. Unlock your widgets and add transparency button in a plasma panel
2. Activate it and your plasma panel will become completely transparent without altering your plasma theme files.
3. Based on Plasma Desktop version:
- For Plasma >= 5.18, exit Configure Layout desktop mode in order to hide the transparency button completely
- For Plasma < 5.18, lock your widgets in the end in order to hide the transparency button completely.

- Plasma Desktop >= 5.18 - you need v0.2.x
- Plasma Desktop < 5.18 - you need v0.1.x

@Psifidotos only icons can be seen on a white background. You can add the option to change the opacity level ?

Absolutely great work! I can finally have a transparent default panel. It would be amazing if we could set the level of transparency ourselves.

You may be aware of the fact that lock/unlock widgets is on its way out of Plasma.
It's already disabled in 5.18 beta.
So another way to show/hide the button will be needed (for some it already is - Neon Testing and Kubuntu 20.04-dev for example).

Thank you. I have forwarded your comment on the Kubuntu forum.
Maybe they know ;·)

Ok, you should try v0.2.0 that requires Plasma>=5.18. When you exit Configure Layout mode of Plasma 5.18 the applet should become hidden. I have not tested it but I believe it should work.

We're working on it... not with much success though. I'll let you know if and when. Thanks again.

I didn't know but also I don't know if new global editing mode is accessible to applets, the applet main purpose was to help Latte send screen geometries to Plasma, in Plasma 5.18 this is provided by a new Plasma mechanism. So there is big chance that the applet will become obsolete if there is no easy way for applets to access new global editing mode.

A widget that I hope someday will be developed for Plasma, would be able to show / hide icons from other widgets by simply clicking on the arrow icon, like the one in Deepin.

@PSIFIDOTOS, would it be too complicated to develop such a widget for Plasma?

If it is a necessary function, then it should be implemented within org.kde.plasma.systemtray, by KDE team. But maybe some one can fork org.kde.plasma.systemtray and implement it.

It would be great to have a dynamic transparency option in the Plasma default panel through this widget.

1. Issues at github page
2. Why don't you use Latte?

Yes, I already use Latte for this reason and also for the possibility of centering widgets in the dashboard!
Two things that are currently not possible in the standard Plasma panel and I would very much like it to be possible, which one day knows not to implement such features ...

- use Switch element for activating/disabling panel transparency
- hide when plasma widgets are locked
