Well the new starter just waste place on screen and needs much more mouse clicks.

9Legacy is perfect for my uses! Much smaller and faster to navigate than the newer design.
Out of curiosity though, is it possible to edit the tabs at all? I have no need for the "Applications" header section in the Computer tab and would much rather have just the Places list taking up the whole panel instead.
10The legacy one is so clean + lean, appears much smoother and it isn't as random/all over the place as the new launcher is.
I do have a problem that the launcher keeps reverting back to the new launcher instead of this legacy widget... So it isn't quite meeting the widget requirements which is utterly sad.
Appears as "Application Launcher" so gets confused with the native (new) one :( .
10I'm so happy someone has already packaged up the old launcher. New one looks like it is trying to emulate windows 10 -- and not only is the windows 10 launcher terrible to boot, it is also a bad emulation of it.
1010 the best, how can one actually use the current one? Once you start moving your mouse up to your favorites apps you pass over a different category and the list of apps changes :#
10That the KDE dev team think the new launcher is good... why not... but please make it so we can keep this one, that (lets be honest) is way better,as a default choice
10I think it's quite telling that even weeks after the release, people rate the legacy version with 8-10 and mourn the old version. I emailed back and forth with the developers, asking them to change the design back to the old version as it's MUCH better than the new one - heck, even Win10's menu is nicer than this one!
Unfortunately, I was told to install the - not maintained! - legacy version and basically forgo all the bugfixes and all that. That's not cool!
How about we start a petition to go back to the old design as it was MUCH more convenient to use, and so many people miss it.

Ignore my error here - I made a file immutable.. legacy kickoff menu works fine!

10 Yeah, I was trying to use the new launcher. Kickoff seems to be a better design. Glad that it can still be installed.
