A minimalistic skin, no fluff, no extra "weight", just the necessary buttons. Edit: New version, version 3.0, available.
It takes a very tiny amount of space on the screen, video opens in a separate window, which can be closed if you want it (good for playing songs playlists), and you can chose from 5 different color themes - Metallic, Blue, Green, Red and Yellow. If you still think it's too bulky, you can make it even smaller, containing the bare minimum buttons and the activity indicator.

Improvements since the last version:

- Added stream/media recording option
- Added recording indicator
- Added recording/pause/activity indicators to the minimalised skin
- Added DVD playback support to both maximised and minimised skins
- Remade the external video window behavior algorithm
- Added the option of closing the external video window
- Added audio files detection, and altered the skin's behavior to react accordingly
- Added an "always on top" toggle button (arrow)
- Minor aesthetic and bug/glitches related work

Don't be alarmed, the full version loads much much faster - I guess I couldn't be ar*ed to do the proper compressions for the demo version
