Description: This cursor set just RESEMBLES the cursor set in the famous game: StarCraft
just run the install.sh script, and the set will be installed on ~/.icons/CursorCraft add a file .Xdefaults to your home directory if not exist, and these two line into it: Xcursor.theme: CursorCraft Xcursor.size: 39 then restart X and enjoy it!
I'v made a part of the whole set, so any comment are welcome! In fact, this set is ported from the one I use in Windows. The number of the cursors of Windows is less than that of X, So can anyone give me some advice to finish the rest.
special thanks to uga at: http://www.kde-look.org/usermanager/search.php?username=uga for his/her good manual.Last changelog:
I would like to know more detail how to installing in gnome, Debian sarege 3.1 stable.
I following the installation document,
but the CursorCraft cursor juet appear a few piece of time while gnome initializing.
when gnome have launched,
the cursor theme return the X11 default theme --- core!
why? how to do is right for the theme?
Nice cursors, really fits in with my matrix kind of look kde. The only thing is can't you add some other cursor for when you hold over links, that white hand doesn't really look very good.
Nice work! XD
Hum..
It seems to work for only XFree86 4.3.
I'm using XFree86 4.2, there isn't xcursorgen command. So, I can't complete install.sh.
Only XFree86 4.3 has xcursorgen command.
so, To use this theme, I decided to upgrade XFree86 4.2 to 4.3. |-)
Regards.
It's a great cursor and I am using it but it has a little bug. when I use konqueror under KDE if I drag a frame border on a web page with frames and release the mouse button the cursor doesn't change back to its original form but keeps looking like this " " as if I am over the frame border or as if I am still dragging the frame border but I am not.
It doesn't show the cursor but the default one if I am in Mozilla for example, only sometimes. That's kind of weird too.
Other than that great work!
Hm, you are correct. I just changed my cursor to another one and it did it again. Oh, well, I guess we pray this bug gets fixed for the next KDE release, hopefully by KDE 3.2 at the latest...
I am changing back to cursorcraft now :).
R.
Very good cursor icons, and work fine even without KDE ;-). I'm using these in my laptop with only Gnome installed & Fluxbox as a window manager (HD space restrictions...). I have a small request, though: could you please make something to replace the standard hand/finger cursor? Now the hand cursor looks a little out of place with these.

Hi , this starcraft cursor was my windows theme , and I happy to find it again on linux :) .
It shame that the resize it not the same as the original (windows ans starcraft) , if you want it , I think that a have it some where in my hdd .
Does XFree86 4.3.x also support animated cursurs like Windowse or only "static" cursors ?
Or is it possible to even use animated Windows cursors with X without modification ?
XFree86 4.3.x can support animated cursors. but the .ani files of Windows is not supported directly. u can use some ani file edit tool to convert the ani file into a serial of png files.
Hi,
this theme is wonderful, I love it, thanks for it.
well, I'm using KDE 3.1 on Red Hat 8.0 Beta 3, the install process (yours) didn"t work for me, so I did the following :
- I placed the CursoCraft directory, generated on ~/.icons, under /usr/share/icons and
- I edited index.theme to change the Icon Theme to CursoCraft, and it works fine.
Regards.
This is a very cool theme, me thinks !
I'd be glad to see you finish it.
I'd be even more so, if you could provide a version with a drop-shadow!
kind regards

I think this bug is due to QT or KDE, not X. Does the bug still exist when you change the cursor to something else?

why is the first shot a blue block? the picture I upload is a png file of the "left_ptr" cursor with 32x32 resolution.
