Description: Lila Cursors Theme created by Marko Sosic (pinux@studio-kappo.com)
Build.sh script used from moshi's Grounation cursors. 0.5: *Added the black and red cursors version (7 different colors!). *Fixed some of the light/shadow error (thank to 9-speed). *Changed the Help and No cursor (the simbol is bigger and no shadow for simbol like the Link cursor) *Fixed minor error to most of the cursor. *Changed in AppStarting and Wait from 80 to 60 (thank to Reza). *Fixed the Cross.conf.
0.4: *Added the yellow and blue cursors version. *Changed the Link cursor (the world icon is bigger now!)
0.3: *Added the white and green cursors version. *Done some minors changing on Wait and AppStarting cursors.
0.2: *Added some cursors and Build.sh changed a little bit. *Rebuilt the cursors Wait, AppStarting, Cross and IBeam. *Another minor fixes.
Sorry for the waiting!
To use one of this set of cursors, edit or create the file ~/.Xdefaults
and add the following line:
Xcursor.theme: Lila
The original sixe of the cursors is 24x24, you can change the size adding a line like:
Xcursor.size: 16
To globally use this set of mouse cursors edit the file:
/usr/share/cursors/${X11_IMPLEM}/default/index.theme"
and change the line:
Inherits=[current setting]
to
Inherits=Lila
or
Inherits=Lila-white
Note this will be overruled by a user's ~/.Xdefaults file.
Hey,
Thanks for the reply. I did try to create .Xdefaults and added two lines, but it didn't work. As far as the other solution goes, I don't even have cursors folder under /usr/share.
Just to mention, I'm running Gnome 2.6 on Suse 9.2.
I did try to extract icons under KDE in .icons and it worked. But, Gnome wont do it.
You're not alone dude. It's just not happening with my nice nu SuSE box!
I only got it last night so I can probably mess about for a while with it and try to find an answer.
If I get to know any more about it I'll gladly mail you.
I like the look and the size, however the wait and appstart (hourglass) cursors don't work for me, they revert back to the old x cursors and ruin the whole feel. they show up on the configure theme screen but not in regular use. Using suse 9.2 kde 3.3.0
Hey,
Nice work. Icon sizes are a little big, but fit well with the cartoonish theme of the cursors.
Text cursor is a bit to the left.
I reduced the timewait for the rotating clock (Wait and AppStart) from 80 to 40 and it looks much nicer. Give it a try.
Reza
I have checked it and it is working for me! If you want change the Ibeam.conf to let your cursor work good, and if you find what is the problem send it to me at pinux@studio-kappo.com Thank for your help! :)
Might I suggest a green version, using the same colors found in the Lila themes and backgrounds?
Making the purple more of a secondary color really helped me to enjoy Lila, which is why I originally made those green backgrounds. I assume making the cursors green, white, or black would also help.
Nice theme :)
I definitely like the style.
I would use this theme if it were a different color, I don't like the pink/purple sorry. :)
Red/Green/Blue/White are all good for me :) haha
Keep it up, I'm sure people will use this one

I love this theme.
Sorry for posting the question again. I can't change my cursors under Suse 9.2.

You can use: kcontrol --> Periphereals --> Mouse --> Cursor Theme You don't even have to untar the archive. Have fun.

Have you tried to restart the X?
I'm still somewhat of a novice, what is involved with restarting the X?

Very nice cursor, but I have a problem to mark text correctly. The image of the text-cursor is a little bit to much to the left. Can I fix it?

The size is 24 x 24. I think that this is the perfect size for a cursor!
is that actual size?
Very nice! Can you make them a lot smaller though? between 16x16 and 32x32?
How do you make this work on Suse 9.2?
nicely done!!

I was thinking about a white version... give me a few days and I will post a new version... thanx
