9 9 excellent!
Unfortunaley -1 for displaying an empty space instead of an icon when there's no active app/window, and a fixed "Default" text instead of app/window name/title.

All this is intentional and the placeholder text can be altered from applet settings.

Thanks. I've just discovered what 'placefolder text' does! :-)
Still I think it could be better to display something else other than "Default" in such a case (e.g. Plasma Workspace) although it has become trivial for me now. ;-)
And what about the blank icon space?

Really great plugin. I really like those options as well, although I think it would be nice to have a menu mode as well.

So basically you click the name, and that opens a menu where you can select to hide other windows, or close the current window, or close all windows, etc.

|o| Simply fantastic, thanks for all these new possibilities!

As we now have the option to show custom text when no window is active, it would be a great addition to be able to configure a custom icon as well.

With the custom icon, I could configure the display of my Linux distribution logo and its name with the current custom text option. :)

Also my user's profile picture and name (maybe even an option that does this automatically).

The possibilities for customizing these functions would be enormous ...

Now I can display phrases, when I have no active window, I will extract this feature by displaying the following phrase for some time "I love the open source world, long live Linux!". ;)

Thank you very much @Psifidotos, you are the wizard of applests!

The icon used comes from your current Activity, if you change the Activity icon then the applet will use it

I mean it is possible to define a specific icon, when we have no active window and the Plasma workspace is shown.
It would be the same concept that you made it possible to configure the text to be displayed in that same situation, in this latest version.

Perhaps this image illustrates one of the customizations that would be possible:

All of them are already possible,
1. Set your placeholder text to what you like
2. Change your active Plasma Activity icon to what you like

I didn't know the possibility of item "2", I'll learn how to do that ...

It is easy, right click the Desktop, Activities. From the Activities Explorer click the icon of the active Plasma Activity to whatever you want

9 Didn't know @Paulnx, thanks for sharing. ;)
This applet is really very complete and flexible, now I understand the term you used (Swiss army knife), a shame it was abandoned and some of the functions don't work ...
Window Title suits me perfectly well, but I confess that I would love to have the possibility of interacting with mouse gestures, to minimize, maximize, restore and close windows! :)

That's great! <3
Do we have any chance of doing the main window actions with the mouse wheel in the future?
Its solutions are great, I use them all, it raises the level of my productivity, in addition to providing a unique identity to the desktop, the main differential compared to the other solutions, is that besides being constantly improving (bug fixes, performance, new features), you hear and answer questions from users.
This is fantastic, keep it up, the KDE Plasma community thanks you for your contributions!

Can you explain me, what are the window actions with mouse wheel?

Report

Basically what Dexter described in item 1 and what the applet suggested by Paul does.

Report

From 1 only closing action would make any sense, scrolling down in order to minimize as long as the applet can not reshown it afterwards does not make any sense

For 2, is already answered in github page that it is not possible

For 3 is already implemented

The justification for item 1 does not make much sense, at least in my view.
You say that the action of minimizing by scrolling backwards does not make sense, because once the applet is minimized it could not show it again.
I don't see any problem with that, as this is the default behavior of the minimize button in the windows.
The practicality of rolling the scroll back and obtaining the same action is that in addition to being more intuitive and practical, the sensitive area is infinitely larger than that of a button, this would also save walking with the mouse and the precision needed for a click on a small button.

Could you provide the link for item 2?

About item 3, if this is already possible, great, but in my opinion this is more aesthetical than functional. Options are never too much! I never particularly noticed the functionalities of item 3, perhaps because my version is old?

Psifidotos, I love your comment # 84! <3
What caught my attention the most was the third interaction (Scroll up: Cycle between tasks), I'm not sure if this is the default behavior on all Chromium-based browsers, but Brave works exactly that way, when scrolling over the tab bar, toggles between the open tabs! Amazing!
I look forward to implementing these features. :)

2. https://github.com/psifidotos/applet-window-title/issues/76

3. in master version there is a placeholder option for the text to show... in current version the icon and text used come from the current activiti icon/text... If you change your current activity icon/text then the applet should follow afterwards

9 @Psifidotos, congratulations on your great work, you're so talented at what you do, I'd like to share with you some feature ideas you'd like to see in future versions of the Window Title Applet:

1. Interaction with mouse commands, being possible to perform actions to maximize, minimize, restore and close the focus window, the commands could be configurable, the default could be, scrolling forward maximizes the window, scrool backwards, minimize, double left click, restore, middle button, close. By default the entire applet area would be sensitive to mouse commands, there could also be an option to set the length (px) of the sensitive area.

2. When the option to show the icon is active, left-clicking on the icon would make it interesting to see the traditional options menu (minimize, maximize/restore, more actions, close), as it is currently done by clicking on the icon, application window icon, another possibility would be to access these options by clicking on the text of the window title and application name.

3. Option to configure an icon, custom text, or fetch from the system the image and username when the Plasma desktop is displayed.

Hi Dexter, the Aticve Window Control plasmoid has all or almost all of these features that you described. I used a lot in the past, these possibilities are very practical and productive. But the plasmoid has been dropped, the app menu feature and other small options don't work. It is sad to see a super plasmoid (true all in one, swiss army knife) being abandoned. :(
I currently use the solutions provided by Psifidotos, it would be great to have these capabilities, this would positively reflect on my productivity. :)

+ Thanks. Is it possible to get 'Title' to act as 'hide activity information', that is not to display, if you're displaying application title and window title in different widgets and they both have the same text? For example, I can start Lollypop and both application name (from Window Active Control) and title name (from Window Title Applet) show Lollypop until I start playing a song whereas Title shifts to the artist. I would prefer title to not display until a song is played so it doesn't duplicate.
