Orthodox Greeks, Romanians and Bulgarians have Christmas the same date as the Catholic and Protestant Christians because they have the same (Gregorian) calendar for religious and non-religious events. What you call "Orthodox" Christmas date is the one that follows the older Julian calendar (in Ethiopia, Egypt, ex-USSR, ex-Yugoslavia).
